A list of all City of Black Mountain employees whose base salary was five percent or more higher at the end of the year (Dec 31) than it was at the beginning of the year (Jan 1).

    No record exists pertaining to the request you have sent. ” A list of all City of Black Mountain employees whose base salary was five percent or more higher at the end of the year (Dec 31) than it was at the beginning of the year (Jan 1)

     

    If you wish to clarify your request please do so and resubmit it. Please see the below NC General Statute for reference in creating records.

     

    § 132-6.2. Provisions for copies of public records; fees. (e) Nothing in this section shall be construed to require a public agency to respond to a request for a copy of a public record by creating or compiling a record that does not exist. If a public agency, as a service to the requester, voluntarily elects to create or compile a record, it may negotiate a reasonable charge for the service with the requester. Nothing in this section shall be construed to require a public agency to put into electronic medium a record that is not kept in electronic medium. (1995, c. 388, s. 3; 2004-129, s. 38.)

    Thank you for your help, understood. Just wanted to clarify on behalf of the requester – could you explain the reason that no record is associated with this request? Based on a similar request with the City of Asheville, I believe that the answer is probably related to the software that is used and the requester may need to ask for the names of specific individuals.
