(Clarification requested – Asheville Schools Certification) Asheville City Schools statute
Dear Asheville City Schools,
Thank you for the recent public records request. Can you please provide the statute where NC law states that certification and licensure areas of public school employees are not subject to public records request? I see the statute you provided, but I didn’t see where certification isn’t a public record. The NCPDI (department of education) has a website that allows the general public to type in the name of an educator and it gives all the certification information and dates. So, it must be public record. Also, can you please provide the requested hire dates (date employee was offered position) from the previous request instead of the start date and employment range?
