We post our minutes to that website.

Missouri Consultants for Education Policy adopted by the Board of Education outline the policy and procedures for the district.

Policy 1450 outlines records request. http://www.moconed.com/regulation.php?action=ind&polID=34&catID=2

    Hi Tim,

    Thank you for your reply!

For the users on our site, I’d like to clarify that I believe the link to regular minutes you’re referencing is: https://sites.google.com/a/cardinals.k12.mo.us/cardinals/home/school-district/board-minutes.

Just to clarify – You’re saying that the School Board has 72 hrs. to post the regular meeting minutes. And, that they have 3 business days to fulfill or respond to any public records requests (In this case, it would be a request for the Closed Session minutes of the School Board, if one was made). Is that correct?

Is there any documented protocol or policies related to The School Board and public records requests, that you can please link us to?

Also, just to tell you a bit about who we are – Our website is called “Sunshine Request” www.sunshinerequest.com. We built a site that makes it easier to make public records requests by allowing our users to anonymously fill out a simple form, and we send, and post the results of any requests on our site on the sender’s behalf. This allows citizens to learn more about our local government, while saving staff from having to fulfill duplicate requests.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

    Thank you for your time.

    Have a good evening!
    Sunshine Request

We post minutes on school website and email to media outlets board minutes within 72 hours of the board meeting.

We return sunshine request as soon as possible. We have 3 business days from the time we received the request or we must explain why we didn’t give a response in that time period.

    Hi Tim,

    Thank you for your reply!

FYI, we received a bounce back error from one of the email addresses we also sent this request to ([email protected]).

    To restate, the request was:

    Subject: Closed Session Meetings Request
Message: “When notifying Shelby County R-IV school board in writing for closed session minutes, how long do they have to honor the request? Ten working days or ten days?”

We do not have additional information about the request, only what was sent in to our site. However, we will try our best here to clarify and interpret on the sender’s behalf what they might be requesting. Let’s reinterpret the request to say:

Message: “Please tell me what is the policy or any protocol for requesting and receiving the Closed Session Minutes of the Shelby County R-IV School Board and their meetings. I’d also like to know whether there is any policy, protocol, or documentation regarding how long the Board has to fulfill requests once they have been sent. Specifically, how long do they have to fulfill the request? Is it ten working days, or ten days total? If there is any documentation or links to any of this information available anywhere, please also provide me with that info.”

    Thank your your your help,
    Have a great afternoon!

    Sunshine Request

Editor’s note: If the sender still wishes to clarify any part of the request, please do so by filling out a new request form on our site and also indicate in the subject line that it is called “Clarification – Shelby County R-IV school board closed session minutes”. Thank you!
