Thank you for your clarification about the FOIA requests. Can you please cite where in the public records law where a name is required? We’re not making a FOIA request, we are making a request under NC Public records law NCGS 132. Under NCGS 132 there is no provision that requires an individual to provide a name or address with a public records request. My understanding is that IT has completed the key word search of electronic documents. Next steps will be for staff to sort the documents to ensure satisfaction of the records request. I must inform you that by NC law the County Manager must present the Board of Commissioners with a budget for the coming fiscal year by June 1 and she is working on preparing for that right now. The budget will be presented to the Board on May 21. Budget preparation is the current priority. I expect to have a response the week of May 21 once the budget has been presented to the Board.
