(April 2021) Request for City of Asheville, NC employee emails Re: Homeless Camps/Enforcement 02/03/2021 – 03/28/2021
Hi City of Asheville, NC Government,
I'd like to make a public records request for the following information:
Please provide all emails from City of Asheville employees: Cathy Ball, Ken Merritt, Joel Tweed, and Jessica Morris -- regarding homeless camps and the enforcement (or lack thereof) of these camps.
The email search should also include any directives from City Staff to other City Staff, state agencies, or local non-profits regarding the enforcement (or lack thereof) of City ordinances regarding non-permitted campsites.
The time period for these emails is February 3, 2021 through March 28, 2021.

In your last reply on this request from August 20th you said: “In response to your email from August 17, 2021 requesting an update, this request is currently in legal review.”
However, upon reviewing our correspondence the email we had sent before your reply was sent in on August 19th, and not the 17th. We just wanted to make sure wires weren’t getting crossed and we’re talking about the right request.

If the records are ultimately too large to send via emailed file share, I’d ask that you please create a public Google Drive folder / link or some other file format to transfer the files.
