Hello Buncombe County Sheriff's Office,

I would like to make a request for the following:

Could you please detail what the minimum requirements are for each supervisory position within the Sheriffs Office (sergeant and higher) in order to be promoted or qualify to be promoted?

    Hello Sunshine Requests,

     

    For the Buncombe County Detention Facility, the minimum requirements for Sergeant and higher are:

     

    Minimum Requirements:
    Detention Certified by the North Carolina Sheriffs Training Standards
    Complete two years as a Certified Detention Officer
    Corporal certification
    No written disciplinary action within the last six months

     

    For Enforcement, the minimum requirements for Sergeant and higher are:

     

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
    · Two years experience

    · NC Basic Law Enforcement Training certified

    · No departmental documented discipline within the last six months

    · Possession of a valid North Carolina driver’s license

    · Graduation from High School or an equivalent combination of experience and training
