Hello Gaston County, NC Sheriffs Office (or County Government),

I'd like to make a three part, public records request for the following information. Please provide the most responsive records as of 12/22/2020 (or the date the query is performed):

Please provide all current GCSO employee names, salaries, positions and titles, including Detention, Civilian, Narcotics, as of 12/22/2020 (or the date the query is performed). I will assume that certain employees will need to be redacted due to their position. Please include:

A. Name, Rank, and Salary

B. Current command structure within the agency.

For example:

Thank you for your help with the request, and I appreciate your reply!

RE:

“According to your website www.sunshinerequest.com you have all submitted a records request to Gaston County’s county manager requesting name and salary information for all Gaston County employees. Gaston County Sheriff’s Office employees will be included in that request once it is submitted.”

You are correct that we do have a seperate, March 2021 request on the site (which was just completed on 04/07/21), called “(March 2021) Request for Gaston County, NC Employee Salaries as of 03/10/21”. That specific request asked for:

“…a list of all Gaston County, NC employees and their salaries as of March 10, 2021 (or the date the query is performed). Please include First and Last Name, Date of Hire, Current Position, and Current Salary.”

Although similar in scope, the request we’re currently corresponding with you about from December 2020, asks specifically for:

“…all current GCSO employee names, salaries, positions and titles, including Detention, Civilian, Narcotics, as of 12/22/2020 (or the date the query is performed)… Please include: … Name, Rank, and Salary…”

We typically like to keep all requests separate – they should not be grouped together with other requests, and should be treated as individual requests to be fulfilled… However, in this case, I’ve reviewed the files for the March 2021 salary request, and I do believe it will also satisfy the December request related to GCSO salaries.

I will note this information on the site, and will mark this request as “Completed”.
