(June 2020) Request for Transylvania County, NC TDA emails Regarding Tourism Promotion After Covid-19 Restrictions Are Eased

Hello Transylvania County, NC Tourism Development Authority,

I’d like to make public records request for the following information:

Please provide all e-mails sent to, sent between, and sent from, members of the Board of Directors of the Transylvania County TDA and the members of the staff of the TDA ... that refer to or discuss promoting the community of Transylvania County after emergency management restrictions related to Covid-19 have been eased.

I would like all records responsive to this request between March 20, 2020 and the date this request query is performed.

    This is in response to the below request made via your website. Out of respect for the request and open records laws, we compiled a great deal of information to the best of our ability in order to accommodate this request. Specifically, emails were compiled using keywords and date range filters on emails sent to, between, and from TCTDA board members or staff. These emails were reviewed with any including a reference to or discussion of promoting Transylvania County after emergency management restrictions related to COVID-19 were eased pulled for inclusion. The specific terms were “promote”, “market”, and “reopen”, with emails including any of those words being reviewed. We attempted to limit duplication as much as possible. We have also included a great deal of final copies of various items to further accommodate your request.

    Ads & Collateral – the limited ads and collateral from the requested time. It is worth noting that all advertising was halted on 3/15, which could occur immediately with digital, but with a time lag for print.
