(June 2024) Request for Jackson County, NC Schools: Number of SCC classes offered in person at SMHS campus in August 2023 and August 2024.
Good afternoon Shaneka, Teri, Cora, Dana, (or Records Officer / Custodian(s) of these Records),
Please reply promptly to the following public records request, which I’m making in accordance with NC Public Records Law. https://www.ncleg.net/enactedlegislation/statutes/html/bychapter/chapter_132.html
1) Please provide the number of Southwestern Community College [SCC] classes offered in person on the Smoky Mountain High School [SMHS] campus in the August 2023 semester.
2) Please provide the number of SCC classes that are currently on student schedules to be offered in person at the SMHS campus in the August 2024 semester.
I believe that High School student schedules have already been published for August 2024 – so, while these numbers are projections for August 2024, they are actual in that students have their schedules.
I am only requesting to know the two totals above. I am not requesting any student information.
** I’m simply requesting an electronic copy of an electronic record, if one exists. I’m NOT asking for the opportunity to come in person to "inspect", nor to obtain a printed copy of, this electronic record. I’m requesting explicitly that any responsive info be provided to me via the electronic medium / electronic format (in which the copy of this record should already exist). If you are unable to fulfill any or all parts of this request, please specifically cite where a reason for denial is justified under NC Public Records Law. **

I believe that High School student schedules have already been published for August 2024 – so, while these numbers are projections for August 2024, they are actual in that students have their schedules.–Students have registered for classes, but do not have their schedules at this point, schedules will be distributed to students the first week of August.
