Hello Jackson County, NC Government (Health Department, Social Services, or, other Applicable Entity),
I'd like to make a public records request for the following information under NC Public Records Law. If you are not the custodian of these records, please let me know to which entity (and website / email address) is most appropriate to submit my request:
Please provide all emails (sent to, and sent from) all Jackson County, NC Health and Social Services Board members related to Jackson County business and services the board oversees. This includes emails between board members.
The responsive records requested should include the specific time period of January 01, 2017 through March 02, 2021 (or as of the date the query is performed).

Having reviewed all language at the various links on this page:
(https://www.jacksonnc.org/public-records-request) it is unclear whether Jackson County’s intention is to require requesters to fill out a form first, and then also take an additional step to email it to their records address. Or, if users can simply write a request via email and send it to the specific email address listed for records requests. As you know, we already have numerous requests which are Open and/or were sent to Jackson County before, during, and after April 2021. We’ve only recently been told there’s some new process for submitting future requests.
In order to avoid confusion, we are going to continue to follow up on all Open requests as usual.
Moving forward from today, however, we will send all “new requests” following the same process as we do now… sending in the emails directly, except that we will now send new requests to the specific address listed on their site: ([email protected])
