Please reply promptly to the following public records request, which I’m making in accordance with NC Public Records Law. https://www.ncleg.net/enactedlegislation/statutes/html/bychapter/chapter_132.html
Please provide the total number of calls received AND dispatched for the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office/911 Dispatch, during the time period of 01/01/2020 through 04/01/2024. Please also indicate the total number of calls received and dispatched by month to each entity (such as the Fire Dept, Police Dept, etc).
For Example:
January 2020. Total Calls: 100. Dispatched to Sheriff's Dept: 25. Dispatched to Fire Dept: 10
To be clear, I’m only requesting to know totals. Please DO NOT include any personally identifying information about callers, addresses, case #s, etc, if that type of data exists. It is not relevant to my request.

I’m NOT asking for the opportunity to come in person to "inspect", nor to obtain a printed copy of, this electronic record. I’m requesting explicitly that any responsive info be provided to me via the electronic medium / electronic format (in which the copy of this record already exists). From 01/01/20 – 04/01/24.When a call for service is requested a CAD (Computer Aided Dispatch) call is generated. Depending on the call for service type the appropriate agency is assigned to the call which generates the “dispatched” call status. We (Cherokee County E-911 Communications) dispatch for primary agencies of Law Enforcement, Fire and EMS in Cherokee County and provide secondary dispatch support services to agencies such as Highway Patrol, Wildlife, USFS etc. The Received and Dispatched would be one call for service not two.

Thanks for providing the message and attachments I received via your “Zix” message today 05/16/24 at 12:01pm.
I’d like to ask for some additional clarification to the following. My request asked for:

I reviewed the files you sent, but it isn’t clear to me if the totals in each row are meant to show “the total number of calls received” AND “the total number of calls dispatched” by each department / entity in that month. In other words — are you combining the total of “all calls received” and “all calls dispatched” as one number, rather than break them out individually?
