(November 2019) Request for “nepotism policies”and information in the City of Asheville

Hi City of Asheville, NC Government,

I'd like to make a public records request for the following information related to "nepotism" in the City of AVL:

1. Please provide a list of all reportable [Editor’s note: We’ll interpret on the sender’s behalf that they mean “all reported relationships"] between employees of the City of AVL [Editor's Note: Timeline not specified]. This should also include those of retired employees still receiving a pension.

2. Please also provide all existing policies regarding reporting relationships between employees, supervising, and hiring.

    I have received this request.
    The City’s nepotism policy is contained in the City’s personnel policies, which are here.
    I will forward your request for “all reported relationships between employees” to the appropriate person(s) for processing. Once processing is complete, I will forward you any responsive records.
    The City of Asheville does not have records regarding retired employees; therefore, the City has no records regarding your request about employees still receiving a pension. The Local Government Retirement System is part of the North Carolina State Treasurer’s Office and the City has no records of that office.
